6.Use your mobile to navigate your way (April 2000)
A week ago, the GSM World Congress saw a brandnew idea: the use of mobile phones as a navigational tool. The mobile manufacturer Alcatel has developed a system especially for cell phones, which is not unlike the one, which has been established in some cars already. With this novelty, some maps could simply become obsolete, because any cell phone user can now get the same information with his/her handy. The user can find out his/her exact location up to 150 meters. More extras would be information on traffic, events, restaurants, cinemas etc.
