1. Improved free WAP-Browser now available

ccWAP.com has updated its WAP-Browser with some new features. The free WAP-Browser can show the source code of pages, which will make some developers happy. More features of the new browser are a back button, a reload button and an info button. The WAP-Browser can be downloaded for free at

2. MP3 starts conquering the mobile world

The Italian companies Omnitel and Vitaminic have agreed, to offer music through WAP on the internet. Both companies want to start the first WAP Mp3 site in the world. Vitaminic will provide the Mp3's, while Omnitel is responsible for the technical aspects and the WAP-servers. The companies are certain that WAP is just a start and they are also already planning their services for the next wave (UMTS and GPRS). 


3. Irish stock broking company plans global trading platform 

Davy Direct, that's the name for a new trading platform. The platform was developed by Davy, Irelands foremost broker company. This fall, they will start this service and offer stock market information to anyone with a WAP-mobile or internet access. They are planning to have at least 10'000 transactions today only over the internet. The CEO of Davy is sure that their website will attract a global customer crowd. 


4. Yahoo on Italian cell-phones

The Italian Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) now has agreed with Yahoo Europe that they can use Yahoo's web content for WAP. Since there are almost 20 million Italians with a cell phone the deal has been very major for both companies. Now, every Italian with a mobile will have a access to Yahoo mail and all other services. 


5. WAP in China 

China Telecom Ltd. has started a big test run of WAP in all the 6 provinces of the country. The test will conclude in late fall. The WAP market has a new area to cover, which could mean literally billions of new customers. 


6. WAPMA, the new meta search engine

WAPMA, is the first meta search engine for WAP. The German search engine searches through several other search engines just like the big brothers from the internet Google.com and Metacrawler.com. At www.ccWAP.com
